-
What celebritydom possibly does not need now is another actress
- like GWYNETH PALTROW, who describes her soul as "pained" and
- calls her childhood suffering "existential." Wisely, though,
- Paltrow, who is getting raves for her performance in the thriller
- Flesh and Bone, serves up plenty of cheeriness too. How is her
- budding career? "Great!" Life with actress-mom Blythe Danner?
- "Great!" Romance with Robert Sean Leonard? "Great!" Gwyneth
- is even more effusive when discussing her Flesh and Bone co-star
- James Caan: "Jimmy was incredible. Crazy but great."

-
Just when the world had recovered from hearing about virtually
- nothing but the relationship between TED DANSON and WHOOPI GOLDBERG,
- the two have--according to the Hollywood rumor mill--decided
- to part company. The said breakup apparently was not precipitated
- by the stress of bad publicity from the pair's politically,
- racially and sexually controversial horseplay at last month's
- Friars Club roast for Whoopi.

-
Just Say No to Rock Stars

-
Now that supermodel Linda Evangelista is dating well-kempt actor
- Kyle MacLachlan, preternaturally tall women with fine bone structure
- are getting the message that it really is permissible to be
- seen with men who don't screech and smash guitars for a living.
- Attached at the hip during last week's spring fashion shows
- in New York City were likable runway high priestess CHRISTY
- TURLINGTON and CHRISTIAN (True Romance) SLATER. Slater, who
- is about to begin shooting the fact-based drama Murder in the
- First, says he and Christy are "good friends," and added that
- he got a kick out of attending the collections: "They were better
- than a Lakers game."

-
For New York City Mayor-elect Rudolph Giuliani, Election Day
- 1993 will be remembered as more than a victorious finale to
- months of handshaking, baby holding and ugly political sparring.
- It was also the day he secured an appearance on Seinfeld, the
- sitcom about nothing. Less than 24 hours after winning the race,
- Giuliani taped an episode of the show, appearing as himself.
- In his cameo, Giuliani pledged to rid the Big Apple of frozen
- yogurt with falsified fat-free claims. How fitting, given that
- Giuliani built his career fighting corruption.

-
While he's touring the world as a Michael Jackson--Popular
- Music Phenomenon, Michael Jackson's lawyers at home are desperately
- trying to save him from forever remaining Michael Jackson--Accused Child Molester. The entertainer's attorneys have filed
- a motion asking for a six-year delay in the sexual-abuse suit
- leveled against the singer by the parents of a 13-year-old boy.

-
Prima donna stage dad Kit Culkin can't stop power tripping.
- The father of Macaulay recently went to battle with the producers
- of his son's next film, The Nutcracker. Culkin Sr. threatened
- to prohibit Macaulay from promoting the movie unless producers
- removed a brief Kevin Kline narration that Culkin Sr. found
- artistically objectionable. The producers faced Dad down, choosing
- to keep the voice-over and not the Mac campaign.
